NCHS STEM Students Explore Oral History at Library of Congress

North County High School's 10th Grade STEM Project-Based Learning (PBL) class took a trip to the Library of Congress to explore oral histories. Led by Mr. Joe Thompson, the group met with representatives from the American Folklife Center who introduced their next PBL Challenge: Interview a vetran or other family member who experienced a significant moment in history. In addition to getting a brief overview of the history and purpose of the Library of Congress, the group gained interviewing tips and references. Students who choose to interview a vetran for their project can submit it to the Vetrans History Project and have their interview posted in the Library of Congress archives.
